When someone ask me about what kind job I would like to have after I finish my studies of Public Administration, I always say that I'd like to work on The Office of the Comptroller General of The Republic, that's was always the plan when I decided study this career: work on Comptroller and oversee the government bodies, like Ministries, under-secretariats, public enterprises created by law, municipal corporations, universities, hospitals, regional ministerial secretariats, and others, helping to shrink the corruption.
I figure that I will work on an office, making reports, cheking Comptroller's opinions, working with lawyers and others public administrators, and sometimes, going out to do the accountability of the public bodies and who recieve the public funds in each entity. I don't think that it demands too much traveling out of Chile.
About the salary, I don't know exactly how much it is, but, on curriculum vitae format that they have on the Comptroller website, it consult what's the amount of money the postulant expect. I would ask for an amount of $1.500.000, because, that's the average income of a public administrator after finish the career.
If i have to do a Master's degree, I will choose one related to administrative law (if I want to stay a long time working on Comptroller I have to do it), or maybe a public management Master's degree (to deepen on the complexity and operation of government entities and (why not?) work someday in that ambit)
This is my dream, I really hope that it turns a reality, if so, I will be the happiest public administrator in the world. Also I wish that your dreams could be true :) .
Well, see you later alligator, bye <3!
